Pulaski is the seat of Giles
County, which is located in southern middle Tennessee along the
Alabama border. Pulaski is served by State Highways 11 and 166, and US
Highways 31, 31A and 64, and is also close to I-65. The county's
central location puts it within a day's drive of several major cities,
including Atlanta, Birmingham, Louisville and Little Rock.
Pulaski was named after
Count Casimir Pulaski, a Polish exile who helped establish the area
around the time of the Revolutionary War. The first mill was built
here in 1811, which brought more business to the growing community.
Attractions in Pulaski include the Brown-Daly-Norne
House, the Giles County Historical Society and Museum, the Sam Davis
Museum and others. Other area events and festivals include the
Grinder's Switch Music and Arts Festival, Horseshoe Riverbend
Festival, Fall FunFest, the Lobelville Homecoming and more.
